It is with the deepest regret that I must inform you that my Sony TA-AX295 amplifier, the heart of the infamous "forklift" system, has bit the dust. In the middle of performing it's duties in the warehouse, the left side of it's heart could no longer function properly. It was flawlessly performing a group of oldies, compliments of FM 92.1, when it met it's maker.
I know all of you are as deeply touched as I, and as soon as I can provide a proper burial, I will make a diligent effort to procure a suitable replacement.
R.I.P., my good buddy.
Let me be the first one to give you my condolences,..

I mean my congratulations.
It was about time those EV Terminators had a decent amp to make them shine...
Start looking in ebay.
thats a shame Larry, good old workhorses like that can never be replaced.
The Gods must be looking down on me. I just checked on the SF CL, and there is a Sansui AU/TU 517 combo for sale. I sent an email.
The King is dead!
Long live the King!
You will soon beat BeetleFred as the biggest Sansui collector at ST.
Jorge
Have you heard back regarding your email?

Not as of 6:30 AM this morning.
Never mind, it would probably be a waste in the wharehouse.
IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!
This morning I went out to do the disassembly, and decided to flip it on again. At high volume, you could faintly hear the left channel. So, I pulled the cover off and gave the volume, balance, and speaker selector switch a bath. It works fine (?) now. (as fine as BPC can be)
Don't worry, Jorge. If I had bought that Sansui, it would have never seen the warehouse!!!
Amazing what cleaning some pots and switches can do.
Jim
You certainly have come a long way, Larry.
Who would have imagined you cleaning pots only a few months back?
Miss Prussy must be out of herself with pride.
Jorge
You have no idea how far he's come...............
