Danger Boy- 03-19-2007
I'm back from my trip to Sacramento for the NCAA tourney. I was working there the past week... our two local teams have been eliminated from the tourney. Damn it!

That's why i haven't posted in a week.

A few thoughts on the gathering though..

I am fine with either Portland or Seattle or anywhere central in the Northwest. It should be a place where the cost would have to be zero or very, very reasonable to afford. People tend to stay away from events if there is a cost involved of more than say... $20.

Since this was a multi forum gathering.. I wish we could have had name tags to go with the event. This is an easy thing to accomplish for the next event. smile.gif

Having several systems on at the same time is tough to demo any of them. I like the idea of giving each system 15 mins for the whole room to demo it. As people come and go from the event.. we could do this again a few hours into the gathering. I wqould like to have people who bring systems/speakers/components give a short talk about what their system that he is demoing consists of.. maybe what mods have been done, etc.

Having an event like this twice a year would be to much stress on anyone. ha ha. Seriously, I like the once a year idea the best. If gatherings are held to often... then attendance tends to slow way down. This has been my experience.

If I can borrow a mini van for the next gathering, I'll bring my Polk Audio SDA SRS's. I think most people have never heard this big boys.. and would certainly be interested, as they sound different than any other (conventional) speaker.

I'll write more as I think of more ideas.

Welcome back Al! Sorry about the Cougs and Zags. sad.gif

As you can see, were bouncing ideas around for the location of the next A$$A Fest.
My Homeowners Assn has a hall that can be rented - the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of having the next fest within walking distance. biggrin.gif I'm sure the others will see the wisdom of choosing this venue.
