| I just recently watched an auction for a pair of Accuphase A-100's they sold for just over $3000.00, 126 pounds apiece of pure class A 100 rated watts per channel, and 1 ohm stable. Accuphase A-100 Jim |

Someone mentioned they took other gear and re-badge. That is not 100% un-true but they don't "borrow" just any gear. For example, the beautiful silver faced M-60 mono-block is a Kenwood L-09M inside. |

| Someone was swearing to me one of the Accuphase models was a modified copy of my Denon POA. After doing some research, I find that unlikely. However, it is possibly the Denon POA-3000, and not my POA-1500, they copied, if this is true. The POA-3000 and Accuphase (can 't recall the model exactly) looks familiar, actually it's easy to see why anyone would believe it. They look more like brother/sister than cousins. The POA-3000 is a Denon CLASS A 90wpc beast, featuring solid build, a weight of 65 pounds and the capacitors are 4 x 25000uF. A true statement piece. I love my POA 1500s, but they are a 150wpc amp, standard arrangement, and not built to the extreme standards of the POA-3000. The POA-3000 could indeed be a template for the Accuphase. The POA-3000 is a 1980-1983 model, the Accuphase would be a modified version from at least 1984, if not 85 or 86. Looks like the POA 3000 had a few facelifts during its run... ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's an inner shot... |

I stand corrected. They do appear similar externally. |
