Hey thanks to all! I just lurked around yesterday and when I got on to do some more I saw this... so I guess I better introduce myself.

soundt/hi.gifI've been a music lover all my life... heard my 1st Beatle song in second grade in the cafeteria. So I guess that dates me. Got back into stereo stuff about 5 years now and this is my main setup... with also a bedroom setup and other stuff not used in various places:

As you can see I like the Yamaha CA series so across the middle I have a CA-2010. 1000 and a 1010. Two tuners here... a CT-1010 and my favorite a CT-800. I've always liked tape and in here are a Nakamichi CR-5 and a Yamaha k-1d... for R2R there's Teac's A3300SR, 3440, and a Pioneer RT1020L. The TT is a Yamaha YP-D6. A Behringer Ultra Curve Pro for EQ etc. and my newest edition a dbx 224x. Everything in the picture is in good working order... just with some quirks due to it's age.

Sure I like the gear... but the music is what is most important, to me. I mainly listen to jazz now... 90+% of the time... bebop and related mainly... NO smooth jazz. The rest of my listening is to classic rock, oldies, folk and other stuff to get a listen to spectrum. I read a lot of music boards so you might have seen me on some others. I just stumbled on this one Googling something or other. Thanks again for the welcome and I'll be giving my opinions.... I'm not a tech... but I am a heavy user!!

Welcome Acoustic. Nice collection you have. The Yamaha CA-1010 is one of my favorites. I'm on the hunt for a CA-2010.

Great setup you got there. Tanx for sharing. soundt/thumbup.gif
I like almost all kind of music, but i'm also a big Jazz fan, and of course NO smooth jazz. wink.gif

I'm using Polk Monitor 50's and there PSW10 sub. I can confirm that Polk's and Yamaha's pair up well. I've got Polk Model 10's in the bedroom. I've also got a pair of Magnepan MGIIIa's that need some attention for a future project. I just don't have room enough to do them justice in the place I'm living now.

i think Yamaha amps are excellent. i've developed a fondness for the CR series receivers from the mid-to-late 70's and early 80's and ADS speakers from the same era.
