Myryad.... smile.gif Few years ago i had a Myryad Z140. Very well designed with warm, dynamic and smooth sounding.
I don't know what the Myryad cdp sounds like but if it has the same sound pedigree as the amp i had, surely it will be a very nice unit.
Congrats, again. soundt/thumbup.gif

I've never heard of Myryad but I'll be curious to see how it compares to the Adcom tuner you got. wink.gif

Regarding my buying these, (Myryad) I hadn't heard of them either, never mind having heard what they sound like. But I do use Google a lot to research ANY item I am interested in.

Everything I bought yesterday was researched, the Adcoms were bought after asking for advice on this site, yours & others helped me make a decision on them.

But to be honest I thought my bid wouldn't come close, I expected them to fetch between £500 - £650, but I set my limit at £300, regardless of my ' joking in my posts' I am not a complete idiot, especially with money.

It's also hard, for me anyway, to tell other people on ST about what you have bought, because I do not want to appear to be 'boasting' about my hifi buys.

But for me, it's part of what I like about ST, swapping info re what hifi you have & what you want to buy next, what you have had, likes, dislikes, etc, plus the advice given & the links provided.

So the earlier post where I said about 'giving my wife her credit card back' was just me joking around, like most folk on ST I haven't got money to waste, Ebay is a 'tool' & I use it to MY advantage, I 'watch' a lot of hifi items & get a feel for what items are fetching...........................BUT I won't always be successful in my bids, but I know that.

This is just a short burst of spending at the moment, powered & encouraged by some of the advice given on this site......................so for me, in the short time I have been a member of ST, it has paid HUGE dividends.

I should also point out that I have always taken risks regarding what I buy, but the internet has made it a lot easier to research the items you might want to buy.

I am sat listening to Etta James (Blue Gardenia) on my Tag Mclaren PA20R & Harman Kardon PA2400 amp & I am in heaven.......................& this has come about partially because of the advice of ST members.

SO WHERE EVER YOU ARE, WILLIE AKA MICK, WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP & ADVICE ALREADY GIVEN & ANY YET TO COME soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

Hi,

Just an update.

The Adcom separates arrived on Friday, they look 'strange' in white, or slightly cream coloured as they now are.

Not used to seeing hifi in white/cream, I'm used to black, silver, gold, etc, but I have never seen white!

Anyway have been too busy with my family to set it all up.

The power amp weighs a ton & everything else is 'light' in comparison!!

To be quite honest they don't look 'hifi' at all, but I think it might be the 'white' thing!!

The knobs/buttons are also strange in design!

But obviously this has no impact on the sound that this 'kit' will make.

I will try to get it all assembled asap & give it a workout, will then be able to let you know what I think about this Adcom hifi!!

I've also had 'ANOTHER MAD AFTERNOON', I have just bought a Teac Esoteric SA-60 to add to my 'new collection'.

I have watched it for several days & the price 'rocketed' in the last few hours, but I had read & re read most of the reviews & I just knew I had to have one, but I thought not yet.......................................then I thought balls to that, life is too short......that's my excuse anyway!

I have since been on Google looking for someone who might help me with some counseling re this 'impulsiveitas' disorder that I now find myself having!!

In more serious mode, this is the very first piece of hifi that I just cannot wait to get hold of & try out.

For all of you more 'seasoned' hifi aficionados you have probably experienced this feeling several times, but for me these last few weeks trying to 'rekinder' my love of hifi have been nothing short of amazing!

I know that I 'ramble on' a bit about this, but I do honestly mean it............ST has been 'the ACE up my sleeve', I just log on & ask away, advice & help is always at hand..............................AWESOME!

Time for me to SHUT UP! soundt/confused-smiley-013.gif

Thanks,

willie

welcome to the high-end in playback. Esoteric makes some of the very best, if not the best DAC's and players.
