"Turnstiles" is my favorite from Mr. Joel. not because it features "Piano Man", but in spite of it, the rest of the album is stellar and you are right about his band, very solid.

Good Morning. This is an oldie but goody band. Chicago - Greatest Hits. This band has everything. If you don't have a good system you will lose alot. There is so much music going on. Yes I'm on the tubes again with this group. I don't know about your high school band but this is what mine played. So it does have some memories. The one song that really rocked for me was 25, 6 to 4. This band I can't say enough about. I like almost all they play. The stuff and yes I said stuff they came out in their later years Sucked. I had 1 CD and I think I use it for a coaster. Like most groups except a few should never try a come back. These are legends to use brass in a rock group in their time was unheard of. They just knew how to make it blend together. This is one band I wish I could have heard live. If you have a CD of these guys put it on and really listen to the magic.
Well we are now going to listen to a band that did make a come back and still rocks today. This one goes on the solid state. It is a box set called Pandoras Box. Yes it is Aerosmith. They have stood the test of time. I wanted to hear their early stuff so I am playing the 1st CD. Their 1st music you can really tell it was the late 60s early 70s. I put the cans on so not to wake the boss. I'm glad they got their act together and made their come back. Now if they can keep from breaking a hip falling off the stage. Alot of this music I forgot that they played. This is a must have for your collection. Just to remind you who Aerosmith really are. Where they really came from. Their later stuff is good but nothing like their older stuff. Every once in awhile I have to stop typing to jam a little and I haven't even had my meds. I remember riding around in my Vega driving with my knees and loading a bowl and listening to the guys on my 100 watt 8 track. Those were the days not a care in the world. Todd get a 12 pack and this box set and put the CD on and the 12 pack by your chair and drink it before it gets warm. Go green don't waste electricity to cool the beer. What more can I say just taking a trip down memory lane this morning. I'm kinda amazed at some of the lyrics. Sleeping late and smoking T. Never did it. LOL I'll leave you with one thought. Have a good day and If your not a head your behind. Bye going to go jam.

I wish I had some old chicago, and aerosmith, I think I would like the rawness of the aerosmith and the polish of chicago, I am going to keep my eyes open for those. thanks for the idea, worked 36hrs of ot in two days, so next payday I will have a couple bucks extra, so I might as well increase my collection.

I run accross quite a bit of Chicago around here at the garage sales, back 100 years ago they used to play the bowling alley down the street from where I grew up.

Back in the mid 70's I saw them at an all day concert (Saturday in the Park was the theme) with Heartsfield and I can't remember now the third band.

I think with the horns and all they give your system a good workout.

Well this morning I'm listening to a crazy man Joe Walsh - But Seriously Folks.
i don't think Joe takes himself to serious. I like his solo work just as much as his other. Joe could be your next door neighbor. I have a couple of his solo CDs. I like his music and his lyrics. Man I didn't relize I have so many guitarist in my collectiom. The next Cd is one of Joes better works. He really plays the box guitar really smoothly on one song. The Eagles Hell Freezes Over. This tour was the one that raised ticket prices 150.00 for a seat. They got it so everyone else followed suit. This is one of their best CDs. When he gets to Hotel California and does it acoustically he just makes that song 100% better. I have to say that is one of my favorite songs. Well I don't know why Joe joined The Eagles but it was probably a money thing. I just know he made that band better. Well I have to mail some tapes. Have a good day.

I agree, I love joe walsh, and one the best live recordings in the modern era was "hell freezes over" they were all spot on, on every note. those were remarkable live sessions.

Well I think we will go a little newer today. Smash Mouth - All Star Smash Hits. Hi guys don't know how to describe these guys. Ever had a CD you just liked or the band well that is these guys. I'm one of these guys that I hear a song and I'll buy the CD. Heard this band song on a commercial so I did a search and poof there they were. So I went out and bought their CD. So All I can say is try them you might like them.
I have the tubes warming up to play this next CD. It is probably older than the guys in Smash Mouth. David Bowie - Space Oddity. Bowie is one of those guys that I like his early music ; but can't stand his newer music . Just like Rod Stewart in his older CDs really rocked. Couldn't stand him when he went Disco. This Cd is a work of art. Another must for your collection. The 1st song sits up this CD. I like it so much I just want to listen to it. It use to be a standard on the FM stations. I really like these Epos 12.2 speakers they have such a stage for a 2 way. They let you here alot of things I never heard on this CD. You can tell this isn't new Bowie. His band is putting some licks down. If you haven't been able to tell I'm an old rocker. Just to prove you wrong wait till you hear the next CD.
Louis Armstrong Vol. 2. I was looking for another ; but I couldn't find it. So I'll play some Louis this A. M.. Some of these remakes you have to be careful. The mastering isn't very good. This one sounds like an old 78 rpm. Louis could play though.
Well have a good day.

Good Morning Just another Hell raising band The Black Crows - A tribute to a work in progress Greatest Hits 1990 - 1999. Lot of Good music. Missed seeing these guys live a few times. Another band that has earned their own spot in the world of Rock. They have their own sound and they keep playing. They use to be big advocates for NORML. They would play the 4th of July concerts. I just heard something about them the other day and I don't remember what it was. I know you are wondering if there are any bands I don't like. Well yes there are I can't stand the Gin Blossoms. I tried just can't play it. But back to the group at hand. They are well rounded and do some jammin at times. There are some of you who have just about the same taste in music. What I'm trying to do is broaden your music taste. I try alot of music you guys talk about in Whats Spining. Plus this gives me something to do in the morning when I should be sleeping. Try this band. They have done alot of good music
Here is another band from the South. Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus. This is a live double CD. I know alot of their music and don't relize they are the ones who did it. You have to be of a certain mind set to enjoy these guys. Lot of Bluesy R&R. Lot of old R&R. Well I think I'll go listen for awhile. This is another CD to try if you never heard them. have a good day. Maybe one day I'll do a Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin.

Jim Eck- 08-20-2009
The Little Feat CD is an abridged version of the Lp, unfortunately in order to make it fit on one CD they completely removed the song Don't Bogart that Joint, sad as it is a very good song.

My copy is an early one and they released it as a single CD, same on the juke box at the watering hole. Also omited on the sigle CD was A Political Blues.

I have two copies of Lp though.

The later Deluxe Edition CD is a 2 CD version with 138 minutes of music, the single CD is 77 minutes, the Deluxe CD has cuts that were omited from the double Lp, which was cut from 3 Lp's to 2 fro marketing reasons.

Some of the additional cuts were release on Hoy, Hoy.

If you are interested there is some good reading if you back track the link to the Little Feat portion,I found it interesting the 3 versions of the start of Lowell George's start of Little Feat, I didn't realize he had been with The Mothers of Invention, seems a lot of people got started there, any other Turtles fans?

Hi all Jim burned some copies for me. It is some music I have never heard before. Am listening to it now. This could take days. Thanks so much Jim. I will be talking about this music.

speakerman1- 08-21-2009
Good Morning Well the CD is of 2 concerts in California in 1972 that weren't found till years later when Jimmy Page found them. Yes Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won. If you like Led just a little this a CD set to have. This is a great Live CD set. I don't care where you get it just get and hear some great music and Jimmy pulling out all the plugs. I didn't know about this one. I can't say enough about it. This set brings out why this was a great band. I'm listening more than typing.
This next one is fun. Commander Cody = Too Much Fun. I can relate to a lot of these songs that is why they are so much fun. I'm typing stupid so I guess I will go. If you ever get a chance and see a Cody CD just pick it up and have some fun.
Have a Good Day.

Absolutely. This reminded me of how much I loved pre-disco Bee Gees, who made some great music in the 60´s and early 70´s.

It´s 10.30 a.m. here. I have the house all to myself, so I´m gonna treat me to some early Bee Gees. soundt/action-smiley-035.gif
