Chris,
I'm trying to remember what they sounded like on SS. When I first got the M19's, I ran them with a Yamaha CR-2020, and as I recall, they sounded fine, but once I started driving them with tubes, the sound really took on a life of it's own. So far I've like EL84's the best, but I will be hooking up a 30 WPC custom built 6L6GC amp to them soon.

Hmmm... Where are you located? I'm thinking about eventually flipping either my Chorus I's or my Forte II's....I can keep you in mind... biggrin.gif

Update....

I recently had a quad of not so new old stock GE 6L6GC's thrown in in a deal, and even though one tube looked a little weak, they sound great in my custom amp running the 19's....

I also have made what appears to be potentially the deal of a lifetime on some 50+ year old speakers. I will wind up paying more for shipping than the speakers cost. I'm not going to say more until they are on the moving truck headed towards my 3rd garage bay, but I couldn't hardly sleep for 3 days as I was waiting for this deal to go through....

More later.... soundt/banana.gif soundt/bluebanana.gif soundt/action-smiley-035.gif soundt/banana.gif soundt/bluebanana.gif soundt/jump.gif

I'll give you a hint...AND THAT"S IT FOR NOW!!!!!

I just don't want anything to go wrong with this deal. Check's been sent, but until I know for sure that they are in the truck with my address slapped on their sides, I'm not going to rest easy......

Do I have your attention??!?!!!..... biggrin.gif soundt/banana.gif soundt/jump.gif soundt/bluebanana.gif

Pffftttt.... Already had a pair of those partially paid for weeks ago. I've bought a pair of 806A's/511's from a buddy and had him promise to save me his 421-A's or 416-A's, along with a set of A-7 cabinets....

No, these make A-7's look like Minimus 7's... We're talking between 1000 and 1500 lbs worth of speakers.... soundt/post-2-1162594343.gif soundt/post-2-1162594343.gif soundt/post-2-1162594343.gif

C´mon, c´mon, what are they, A2´s? blink.gif

I understand there were even bigger Altecs, but they wouldn´t fit in any normal house. Not that the A-2´s would, anyway.

OK, check's cleared, so I can spill a little more....Here are the "tweeters", 3 of them.... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif .... soundt/banana.gif soundt/banana.gif soundt/banana.gif
