One of these days, I'll figure out how to take a picture (or pictureS) of my system, and attach it to a post. For as long as I've owned a stereo system, I've tried my best to make it look attractive, without a mess of cables lying all over the place.

Currently, and for quite a number of years now, my equipment is installed in a wall unit, with all the wires carefully hidden in the back. I've been able to run power cords down along the supports of the wall unit so they're all but invisible, but there's no denying that the superthick Monster Z-Series speaker wire I'm using cannot be hidden, no matter what. Next to my right speaker is my sub, with two cables running into it from the pre-amp "out" jacks, along with the power cord for the sub as well. Fortuntely, all of that's lying on the floor, and not dangling from a countertop somewhere.

Someday.... biggrin.gif

Ed,

Now that you mention it, I realize how much we would all love to see your system.

I bet we could all learn a thing or two from some pics.

Do you have a digital camera? I could walk you through the process. It´s a lot simpler than it sounds, actually.

Allan,

I understand those pics were taken at the Movie Theatre. Even showing the boxes covered in dust I´m drooling all over. soundt/drool.gif I could kill for just one of those bass boxes.

When are you expecting to get them in your place?

Jorge

Analog Addict- 10-11-2007
Jorge,
It all depends on when I set up the delivery. This time of year is very busy for me. I am out of town the next three weekends for a conference, wedding, and a Halloween party. SOmetime early-middle November I think...I need to round up all the local audioheads for a lifting and listening party....

Cheers!
A.

Heh, I would suspect anything closer than a kilometer is too close.... biggrin.gif

And I thought I had a few big speakers....

Analog Addict- 11-08-2007
Well, they tried to pack up my Simplexes yesterday. Apparently 4 men couldn't lift them off the risers soundt/Tflex.gif Ouch....

The fellow running the show thinks they're closer to 500lbs apiece rather than the 300 I was estimating. That's gonna hurt when the shipping bill comes due. I was estimating 1500 lbs for everything, which came in at about $1000 delivered to my door for close to a ton of weight. Now I'm prolly looking at $1300 or so. blink.gif double ouch...

I'm hoping he'll get them packed in time for me to take delivery 11/17. I've been told 5 days from NE to NC..... soundt/alvaro.gif

I don´t know how much you bought those speakers for, Alan, but in my book, $1300 for shipping is quite reasonable.

You´d probably better start thinking of hiring a forklift to unload them at your place. biggrin.gif
