Howdy,

Disclaimer (doesn't that suck rolleyes.gif ); I don't work with, know personally, have dibs on the will or otherwise exchange karma with these folks. With my LMC-1 and pre on order I needed to enter the world of connectors and associated vodoo. I simply found this company while scanning the Bay and the value looked very good (prices are shown). After the RCA's were on the way I discovered they also offer speaker connects and thus those are coming along as well. Rather than give impressions please see this thread of communication and take from it what it's worth (carefully considering it's free biggrin.gif ) If anyone is interested once the cables are in hand I can snap a few pics. Please don't be upset if I can't offer an opinion of their sonics as it's guaranteed to sound different with any given set of components. I've purposefully deleted all the misc contact info, time/day, etc to condense this to a manageable size. Regards, Dutch

Hi Dutch

THANK YOU...Although it is my job.it nice to here we are doing it well..Our company ProAudio connection has been servicing major studio's,sound &tour companies for over 35 years..My father started it when he realized.he need a good source of cabling and connectors for setting up sound systems for touring and installs .He is well respected in the field,he has set up many world touring system, studios, music theaters,ect..for such artist as U2,the Stones,The Eagle,ect..So I need to make sure our product, service and end result is good, because our name depends on it..We are a private company, but I am starting to open it to the public, because of demand for our product from audiophiles..As he would alway say
"it only as good as it weakest link and 9 times out of 10 it your cabling or connector"

You can alway reach me at;
proaudioconnection@charter.net
[608]-837-0349 you will get a message machine,so leave one and I will return on my dime.

Thanks Jaret

Very good sir...please invoice me at m*#^^20ft@msn.com via Paypal and we'll be good to go. BTW, it's not just the great price (although it certainly helps!) but the fact you answer communication timely and concisely. We both know this is a bit of an impulse (and expensive) hobby so it's great to have an open line with a quality vendor.

Many thanks and I'll look for your invoice...really want to get this 7-channel system up and running.

Hi Dutch

Yes, the quote was for standard cables,I figured you would had said biwire if you wanted them.Starquad mean there are 4 conductor but we double them up for even better signal transfer, actually that is what the cable was design for..They are very good cables, you won't be disappointed.

Why Canare Offers Star Quad Speaker Cable

Speaker cable must accommodate relatively high signal levels, typically tens to hundreds of watts of RMS power. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can radiate from these speaker lines directly into adjacent low voltage cables (i.e. microphone, video lines, etc.). Canare solves this problem by using a 4-conductor “Star Quad” configuration in all of our 4S Series speaker cables. Because every conductor is located the same distance from the center, the opposing magnetic fields are cancelled out. Attenuation of magnetic field radiation is superior when compared to a standard 2-conductor speaker wire.

Jaret,

I just need to make sure that I've explained this properly...the cables are not for biwire use; just regular pairs (Translated (3) speakers need (3) single runs). The "4s8 Starquad" name just has me a little worried.

Thank you,
Dutch

Hello Dutch

We offer Canare 4s8 starquad with TechFlex black braid covering with with very high quality G&H bananas. The 3 meter front set[3 cables] are $46.00.We can add to order,it would be $3.50 more for shipping because of weight and added size..

Jaret
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

I just picked up on the Canare speaker cables you're offering. What would be my price on (1) 3 meter pair and (1) single 3 meter pc (center channel duty); both with some good quality banana plugs (both ends)? BTW, do you offer any braided coverings for these? If $ looks good maybe you could package them together with the RCA's you've already got coming (Ebay 300231450476).

Regards,
Dutch

sounds like a reasonable outfit. i use Canare 4s11 starquad cables as my main speaker cables and love them. definitely the cream of the bargain cable crop.

speakerman1- 06-10-2008
WOW Those prices are good. Better than I could do. They are the prices I pay not sell at.

Mako20ft- 06-10-2008
Uh oh, I really should have considered possible vendors on this forum before I ran the thread. Apologies...if a moderator considers this infringing then no sweat; please remove the link info. No harm intended...

No sweat Dutch. It's always good to know good stuff at good prices.
Then tell us what you really think about the sonic performances of that cables.

no infringement here. as long as there is no shilling, all recommendations are welcome.

ST does not accept sponsors or commercial advertisements, we are a 100% free and non-profit forum. vendors can become ST affiliates (ala Grant Fidelity), but that does not imply any recommendation or endorsement by ST, nor does it mean that non-affiliates cannot be recommended.

Good morning, I had to Google the word "shilling" blink.gif Thank you for seeing this for what it is. The Emotiva amp arrived yesterday and the pre is due in today (sidebar; why does FedEx never update their tracking but UPS instantly tells everything including it's been delivered notification with time c/o email).

With luck, the RCA's and speaker cable will be here by weeks end. For me this is a major purchase (emphasis on major unsure.gif ) so please bear with me if I look for a patient ear. The amp is simply gorgeous so I do have high hopes.

Writing some thoughts on those TAD speakers was a gas. This time around it's probably better serving to take some pics and keep the commentary to a minimum. As I settle back into this hobby (as my bank account settles into this hobby) I'm learning that opinions are so wildly different it can be unsettling posting impressions.

Anyways, the rude awakening part of this will be a major change to the whole set-up. With the Yamaha HTR5990 receiver now "defunct" I've lost the use of presence speakers (Wharfedale WH-2...apologies to BA ohmy.gif ). I need to consider whether it's worth running the additional cable to the rear supporting a 7th channel? Would anyone have knowledge of how much is available in 7:1 format? It's not impossible to make this added run but it will be a long day as all my wiring is run in the walls from when we built the home. Regards, Dutch

your ok. that doesn't bother me at all. I don't even use the power cords that are expensive. your ok

almost all the 34 I/C's in my system are made from Canare L-E6S Star quad cable which has 4) 19ga conductors 2 White and 2 blue they are connected as two twisted pairs and I use the RCA's at the top of this page.

http://www.wholesaleaudioaccessories.com/p...SORIES/CTGY/RCA

WBT clones as my RCA's to the best of my in hand comparison between these RCA's and the WBT's the only difference I can tell is I know the WBT's are said to be OFC core and the less expensive ones are Brass (so about 60-65% copper) for the HUGE price difference I know I would never hear the difference and then I'm sure I would have a hard time figuring out if that difference was an improvement.

Lets see

68 RCAs at $5.00 a pair = $170.00

68 RCA's at $34.00 each = $1156.00

difference I would need to hear =$986.00

Just my two cents (which I wouldn't have if I bought the WBT's LOL)
