Still having some mobility problems but I was able to get out and do some errands last Saturday. Stopped by a church sale and saw a set of speakers sitting on a table. Turned out to be Avid 103's in mint condition. Asked the price and was told $5 when I jokingly replied "$5!" she said, "Okay $3 as we want to finish cleaning up." Haven't done anything except take them out of the car. Butyl surrounds on the woofers with fuse protect. About 2 years ago I bought a set of Avid I02's for about the same price—still sitting somewhere in the garage.

Hakka,
You oughta open a Vintage Stereo Business of some sort. I mean it.
You take care of purchasing, find someone to sell. You could have a future there.

Hakka,
great score.
Can you tell me where these were manufactured?
I've always wondered if it's the same company that made professional video editing gear.
any clues?
And if possible, I'd love to see photos.

The name Avid seems to have been used by different companies in different places, over different periods of time.
It is now the name of a Highly regarded British TT.
Finding is fun—selling is a pain. Paul, according to the warranty label inspection was done on 8 September 1975.

Close-up. Appear to be a type of Peerless tweeter. Range 35 to 1.8.. Label says 38lbs.

The tweeters are Philips AD160/T8,the plate shows it's a later model made in Belgium. Those speakers sound awesome,I bought a pair new in 1978 for $300/pr on sale. They are air-suspension speakers which means the bass coming out of them will sound musical instead of a 50 Hz BOOM like all the bass reflex garbage today. I would never sell mine, you got quite the deal at $3.
