Been selling lately, now the pendulum is swinging towards buying!

I've got the following good stuff on the way from the bay:

AU-717
AU/TU Set of Rack Handles
Marantz 2325 w/Wood Case
TA-E77ESD
NS-1000M Woofer

Oh man, is this FUN!!!!

Sansui AU-717 is an awesome unit. I've had one since I bought it new in college c1979 at Stereo Discounters in Landover, MD (IIRC). Man, what I'd givce for a warehouse shop like that again ....

Anyway, superb unit. Enjoy it.

You know there's a couple of different rack handles, as well a aluminum and plastic.....

Listening to my TU-717 right now, and soon it will be paired up with my AU-719, which should be back soon from grateful's workbench! user posted image

They will be (eventually!) mounted in a rack with an SC-3110 that is awaiting servicing, a Nikko EQ-35, and when I can find one that I can afford, an AT-15L timer! biggrin.gif

Finally, I'll have a system of matching components, might make this place look a little less like I get all my gear from curbside on trash day! smile.gif

Thanks Scorp! Had an AU-717 before that I sold to a good friend and immediately regretted!! This one is going to cost me more to replace...

I did not know there is a PLASTIC version. Got my fingers crossed.

Birddog: With the selection you have, your choice of the AU-717 is a recommendation that cannot be ignored. I wish I had kept my Yamaha NS-200M's that I used to pair with my AU-717. Now that was a combo that was detailed, culutured and sublime at the same time.

Um, I have (Soon!) an AU-719, not an AU-717. My Tuner is a TU-717. The AU-717 is a great unit as well! Doubt I could tell them apart in the dark!

Keeping an eye out for those harder to find rack-mates, the AT-15L, The AX-7 mixer, and if the good lord above smiles on me, the rare P-1 Parametric EQ!

Now that would make for a nice Sansui rack! Of course, then I would just have to have the Sansui rack and rack drawer to mount it all in! It never ends!

I'm keeping the faith, even with my very very tight budget, I have been lucky to find a lot of great stuff, and have had several things gifted as well!

Kind of like this for sale on the bay...

I wanna be like you, Sam.
I have a whole heap of mid-fi here, and want to have about a dozen pieces of HI-FI. But I guess nobody is going to come in and sell all of it for me.
There's a vintage audio show in Denver in March, and I'm thinking about calculating the capacity of the bed of my 1-ton pickup, and carting a load down there to liquidate.

Have fun with the AU/TU combo. I have the TU-517, and it's fun to listen to AND look at.

When the guilt of buying TOO MUCH stuff sets in, I'll be back in selling mode. I try to buy stuff below market so when and if it has to go, there are a few bucks in it for me. That way, I can build up my audio fund for when the pendulum swings to buying again. Kind of bi-polar but, definitely fun.

Oh, forgot to mention, I'm going to pick up a 2110 scope tuner today...

You can build a "Stairway to Heaven" like mine!

Check out the SE7 equalizer for matching rack mounts. I hear the SE9 is better, but my 7 does just fine. I also have a 1110, two 3110s, and one 1330 cassette deck.

Not in the photo is a TU417, and I just located an AU417 to go with it.

Scorpion8- 12-11-2008
Sansui AU/TU rack mount handles come up quite often on eBay. I have a TU-217 that I've always used with my AU-717 and it does just fine. I used to swoon over the complete Sansui rack systems, but ended up with other pieces anyway.

itlldue -- the smaller Sansui's like the AU-417 were also superb units for their size. I'd been looking for a small one for a long time. Jealous!

socal sam- 12-11-2008
Ah heck, now I'm going to have to find the matching EQ. Thanks alot guys!

The AU-317 was one of my favorite small integrateds. I do miss it.

Love my TU-717.
