Mark,

Those are nice lookers. Do they sound half as good as they look? I guess they must...

They sound very nice. They have the "Canadian" sound.

The best speakers that I own are a set of Dayton III MTM's that I built. They are actually the only speakers that I own, but they sound great.

I have a well travelled pair of Altec Valencias I've had since 1966 and my second favorite are the KLH 17's. A lot of quality sound from a small box out of the 17's. Then it would be the Maggies. The Maggies are actually better sounding than the 17's but the 17's have a special place if that makes any sense.

Out of the commercial products I have, probably the Dynaco A-25s.

If most listened to qualifies then my Altec 614D cabinets holding my EV PRO12B coaxials are top dog around my house. If looks are involved in conjunction with performance my Klipsch RF-3II's would be top choice. I really like them all though.

Currently in order of the 'best'

Legacy Classics: by far the best I have ever owned or probably will own for some timeuser posted image

followed by several various pairs of to many speakers.

WOW!!! Talk about resurrecting an old thread. biggrin.gif

Well since I wasn't around to give my $.02 back in 2006, here are mine...

The "best" are my Infinity RS 9 Kappa. These are also the only large full range speakers I own. I do however, have a number of pairs of bookshelf speakers. Of these I am most impressed with the B&W DM 601 S3, which curiously is also the smallest of this bunch.

Updated list-

Just returned the Ohm Walsh 1XOs. They'll be very missed.

The DCM Timewindows, returned months ago, very missed as well.

The Boston Acoustics A150s and A200s are sold, and missed.

The Mission 750LEs- a few appearances here- loved, and missed.

The current favorites-

Royd Sevens.

Thiel CS 2s.

a/d/s/ L1230s.

a/d/s/ L630s.

Dahlquist DQ-10s.

Vandersteen 2Cs.

Awaiting repair- AR 9LSIs.

Another family issue is going to put the squeeze on the collection further, and I'm less than pleased to think I'll need to cut the collection down further/faster than planned.

Yamaha NS-1000M
Yamaha NS-200M
JBL L-112

I should have kept my Dahlquist DQ-32's.

Ask me tomorrow as I move into That Old Retro Shop in Calgary tomorrow for 2 months or so. Pics to come. I have some great new speakers that I am now used to, but still keep my Mirage 750's around for when I get the house to myself and can crank it with EL-34's and beer and ... smile.gif Just something special about them with 70's prog rock.

Add Cornwalls to my list.
