Went to an estate sale Friday and found a conosole stereo in the entryway. Looked inside and saw a Dual 1010 TT. Empty slot for the amp/receiver ohmy.gif. Felt the cheesy speaker covers and found a a round opening and a rectangular one. Horns maybe? went and got a screwdriver and took off the rear panels. Bummer, no horns. but saw two 12' drivers. Asked if it was okay if i just took the innards and was given the go ahead. Pulled them and found Wolverine LT-12's soundt/banana.gif. Took them and a tuxedo to the ashier for pricing. "Looks like five dollars!" Haven't had time to give them a listen of any sort but they do look cool.

looks like the cones need a little repair work but that's a nice score.

Very similar to some Soundcraftsmen. Very nice score. soundt/thumbup.gif

The cones are fine. These are from a couple that do estate sales. I have a good rapport with them and they know I look for audio. I bought a set of KLH 6's from hem about a month ago for $7.50. They let me have them for 1/2 price so I wouldn't have to drive back the next day smile.gif. Sometimes, as this time, I just buy things to keep in good graces (and the prices are very, very good) but I didn't know these were so highly regarded.

WOW!!! I think I had a set of those around 1986/87. After I bought my first integrated amp at a pawn shop after Christmas 1985, a friend of my mom's gave me two huge nicely veneered speakers. The drivers looked EXACTLY like these, including the felt spider/dust protector. MAN... only now do I realize that I had my hands on something good. I guess I was just too young and dumb back then.

Nice find!
