960' of 18ga silver wire was used for the 18' pair of speaker cables.

There is no way I could post this without sounding like a wise@$$, but I don't mean to sound that way. You said you used 5 pieces 18' long (90') for each leg. Four legs - 360' Did I miss something, or is that a typo? smile.gif

Larry

Good catch Larry - same error happened with the Mars lander. Landing rockets were supposed to fire at 360', but due to a software error they fired at 960'. Problem was that the landing rockets ran out of fuel at about 100', and the resulting free fall totalled the lander.

(disclaimer - the facts of the Mars lander crash were modified a bit to better match the error that I made biggrin.gif )

I don't care what they say - I believe you!!! biggrin.gif

If you ever need BIG heat shrink, let me know. I looked at their prices at that website, and I'm a HELL-O of a lot cheaper

I sent the markings from that wire of mine to the mfg. to see if they can give me the specs on it. I looked on their website, but couldn't find it.

So, can you tell a difference with your new cables?

The Qed's speaker cables that Clint posted use silver coated copper, so that wire of yours should make very good speaker cables.

I haven't noticed any difference between the new silver wire speaker cables and the Zu Audio speaker cables. The system sounds great as usual.

As long as it is good copper with decent section and proper sheating, they all sound the same to me. Super duper expensive cables are a lot of baloney, if you ask me.

In order to avoid trashings I´ll make it clear that I am probably very limited of hearing. biggrin.gif

I don't have a problem with your opinion Jorge. smile.gif

I'm not expecting these speaker cables to make a major difference in the sound quality of my system. Over time, and after extensive listening to various speaker cables I hope to be able to judge what, if any, difference there is between cables.
