Occasionally I see some California Audio products. Anyone ever own them, or use them?

If you're talking about California Audio Labs, yes they were highly regarded in the trade journals, but suffered from poor quality control and spotty manufacturer support. My gut feeling is the proprietors had sound engineering backgrounds, little marketing acumen and limited funds. Great sounding gear when it works, but I wouldn't pay much for any CAL equipment.
