that's one hell've a review!! thanks, sam!!
that's the BD player i want, the PIONEER BDP-09FD.
alas, as a no-compromise flagship model,
with an MSRP tag of $2000, i'm afraid i'll have
to wait a few years for a second-hand copy
at a more reasonable price...

that's the PDR-09, the very first consumer CD recorder ever marketed.
it was introduced in 1994, with an MSRP of $4000.00.
it was available until at least 1996, with PIONEER RDD-60 CD-R discs
selling for $25.00 each.
gee, in the 1990's, making custom CD-R mixes was strictly a rich-man's
sport...

BTW, DELIHAUS; is your DENON CDP a DCD-1500, or 1500II?

MacGyver- 10-29-2009

oh, and DELIHAUS, here's a more recent photo of my 1500,
taken just today with my new DSLR. sure does positively
blow away the FUJIFILM point-and-shoot that i've been using since 2003...

i'm still dying inside for my PIONEER PD-3000/91,
but this DENON is not nearly as bad sounding as i remembered it to be,
and is doing a fine job of filling the role as primary CDP
for the time being. this old looker sure is a real die-hard workhorse...

I have two POA-1500 II Amps and two damaged in shipping DCD 1500 IIs. smile.gif

ah. those 1500IIs, by the way, possess VERY NICE solid die-cast isolators
set into an aluminum outer shell. they add a LOT of weight to the chassis.
i recently found a set on EBAY, and got them to use on my JVC
HR-S8000U S-VHS:

as far as i can tell, DENON used these on several high end CDP models,
from 1987 to 1989. the DCD-1500II being the first to ever sport them.
it is also the most common and least expensive of those models
to find today...
