i have no idea how those sound, even if they were lousy, they are still some super cool speakers.
Never seen them before.
They must have been OEM´d from Ohm, or someone like that.

AFAIK, They were made in Newton MA, by dBX. The company had a line of Soundfield speakers - The SF-1A, SF-10, SF-50, SF-100, SF-1500. (I think there were more models than this.) I think the 1A's and the 10's also had a special EQ box, kind of like 901's. I still have my SF-100's that I bought through the employee purchase program.
I've never heard the 1A's but the 100's sound pretty good.
After dBX went under, the DAK catalog sold speakers called the Soundfield V under the dbX name. Those weren't even close to the originals, however.
