I got mine, with power supply, for $60. Arrived today. Can't hook it up for at least 2 or 3 days, but I expect big things from it.

go slow, it does take a bit of break in before it starts sounding really good.

Thanks, Scott. It is a used unit, so I'm thinking it's broken in already, but nonetheless, I'll need to spend some time with it when I get a moment, to acclimate to it, and see what kind of difference it makes.

I'll post a review as soon as I can get a chance to hook it up and try it out.

I use an Adcom GCD-600 CD changer, and the GDA-600 D/A outboard digital to analog converter. When I mistakenly thought they had gone bad (it was a defective disc that skipped all over the place), I reconnected my older Denon 1500. I had always liked the 1500 (it replaced a rarely working 1800 I had purchased earlier), I couldn't believe how lousy it sounded compared to the Adcom combination. It wasn't merely a subtle difference, but more like going from a mediocre system to one with all high grade components.

1500's are available on eBay, and so are both Adcom units. You don't have to guess which I'd recommend. biggrin.gif

Are the lasers available for the Adcoms? and if so, where, and how much?

Haven't a clue. But Adcom themselves still service the units, and that's a plus. biggrin.gif
