for those who might find this useful:

open up the case, remove the faceplate and knobs, and spray it in the little holes of the control pots and spray it in the moving part of the button and switch pots. also, spray the "separate/pre-main" switch on the back of the LR-9090. it is a cheap bugger and causes a lot of intermittent sound.

when you spray down the power/speaker selector, be sure you let it dry for a couple hours before using--this one is more high voltage and can spark and arc if the de-oxit is still wet.

for the bass knob, get into it from the left of the board that is there. for the mid and treble knobs, you will have to unscrew 2 screws that are on the front that hold down the board above them. stick the red straw of the de-oxit into these to get into the mid and treble knobs. you may have to bend the red straw a bit to get it into the right hole of the mid/treble pots.

The 5 buttons that are right below the dial glass will be hard to get to as the board is upside down and cannot be accessed from the bottom. If these are not giving you any problems after everything else is finished, dont fool with them. You won't have fun getting it apart or back together.

for the 4 tape and speaker turnover switches, get them at the back where the black square piece moves in and out when you click them.

you will have trouble with the selector switch on it. it it behind a board in the very back of the unit next to the inputs. the best way to do this switch is shine a light down the top of it. when you turn the knob you will see a small white piece moving. spray it in there, or try getting the entire board off. I don't recommend taking the entire board off if you have little experience--you may crack it or not be ablke to get it back together.

also--after you spray each control/pot/switch--click it or twist it about 30 times. be very careful on the power switch though--only do it about 10 times slowly. it is the achillies' heel of your receiver and is a problem waiting to happen.
