Those analog wave forums aren't quite as smooth as we thought. I found this link after losing it for a while. Some food for thought.

so, from what i can gather, the signal from an LP is similar to the signal from a CD, but each has its own sonic signature?
Basically, the waveform from an LP would look similar to that of a CD, but the "steps" that create the wave will be larger and less consistent than CD, is the basic premise.
LPs may sound better than CD to some, but the reason isn't the stepped wave forum that a CD contains nor is it a matter of an LP reportedly containing more data. It could very well sound better for other reasons, though.
