Rotel rocks. soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

My woofers are driven by a 981 BX that I bought new back in 1997. I wish I could find a second one to use them bridged, but this particular model, having been produced for only one year, is scarcer than hen“s teeth. It was probably too expensive to manufacture.

I love it.

Like Jorge says, Rotel rocks!
Their product philosophy are very similar to Nad's. Excelent gear at low prices. wink.gif
I have one Rotel amp from the '80s, the 840 BX4. Excelent amp and still working fine trough all the years with no problems whatsoever.
Enjoy it. user posted image

It's numbing to me how quickly your system has blossomed. Absolutely amazing setup there, Scott. I dunno where there's much room for improvement, though I'm sure as afflicted as we are, there's always "just a little bit more..."

the most limiting factor is still the room. if i could overcome that theres no telling how good it can sound.

What happened to the pics of your system Scott? How about posting some new one?

i dont know what the deal is. i linked them from my frappr account which seems to be on the fritz. i'll post some current pic's after Labor Day weekend.

i've been going back and forth between getting a matching Rotel amp or not. i came back from Portland yesterday with something that made up my mind for me. i'm now in the market for some power management and my next upgrade will be a power conditioner/management device. what could possibly steer me in this direction? Mark B of course, courtesy of whom i now finally have a real dedicated audio rack. in addition to looking real nifty its extremely functional, thank you Mark!

soundwise, i dont know if it has made a difference or not. the system sounds incredibly good, but it did before too. it wouldnt surprise me if it did make a difference for the better, having all your sources and pre-amp stacked on top of each other cant help.

dingus- 09-04-2007
now i can see all wires and cords from the listening position, i think the cords in the outlets are especially cheesy looking, thats why i've decided on using some power management. here's the rat's nest.

dingus- 09-04-2007
and the rack, looks so much better than the stack i had on the table.

Looks good Scott.

Adding a power conditioner will provide several benefits. Surge protection, line conditioning, and a single location to run cables to. You've got room to add a nice CD rack.

Scott, looks great!!!

I love the look of the rack. Real sharp. Who makes it?

Sound Organisation is a UK brand. Here's a link to some reviews of the rack:

Hey, Scott, how about a rundown of the components in your system now?

I gotta say, your system is thee "most watched" in terms of development, from my standpoint.

I'd love to know what your favorite pieces are, and what you're using now, what you'll be replacing, what you want to upgrade, what you're completely satisfied with.

dingus- 09-15-2007
i'll wait until i've had the new transport for a little while at least ... supposed to be here on Tuesday. my current pieces are listed in my sig.
