Very controversial unit. Look at the way the LP is supported. The unipivot arm was a nightmare too.
That´s a great unit to have in static display at a Museum. I believe the NY Museum of Modern Art has one, actually.
That Michell abondoned this type of record support speaks for itself, I guess.
Most likely less than stellar as a performer, it was however, the TT dear old Alex used in Kubrik's Clockwork Orange.
Some models were sent to SME, who re-sold 'em with the 3009 and 12" 3012 arm.
I'd use it for special occasions, and probably spend more time with a humble Rega P3 or Technics DD.
For me, any kind of Sony [Denon made some, I think] linear bio-tracer. What more could you possibly need?
