Ordered some Audio Nirvana Super 12 drivers today. After my experiences with the Super 8's, I thik the 12's hold alot of promise. Loved the midrange presentation on the Super 8's, just need a bit more bass.
Anyways, I found a cabinet maker locally. But he just tore town his shop, and is moving to a new home/shop arrangement. So it will be at least 2 months before he can build me a pair. Since we are currently renting a house(in the process of selling our old one) I do not want to buy a good table saw....the one I liked at Sears weighs in at 500lbs or so.
So what I need is a pair of servicable cabinets that I can convert to fit the Super 12's. It's what I plan to use until I cn get a pair of cabinets built. If there is a S-T memeber who knows where I can chase a pair up, it would be greatly appreciated. I happen to be in Eastern Oregon...zip code 97801.

Mr Pig,
I know it's far away, but not far from me in Mass, there's a guy who sells custom cabinets that are beautiful, he builds them for Genesis. The spares, or possible "seconds", which are stunning, he sells on Craigslist.
I could see if I could find the ad.
This may get moved to classified, as it is technically a "wanted" request, but I'll leave that up to the moderator of this forum- maybe here it'll get some exposure first?
Anyhow, if I can help at all with the cabinets, let me know. If they are small enough, I could assist in mailing, but due to my injuries, please understand I will not be able to pick 'em up.
Cheers, good luck, and please let me know if you're interested in me searching for that ad...
Well, there's this one
EV Aristocrat on the Portland Craigslist. Then there's my
one Tannoy Berkeley cabinet (15" cut out, but that could be fixed with a black painted piece of plywood). Unfortunately, I know of no mates around for either of those nor of any cabinet pairs available.

Thats a very kind offer T,
I think I will stick with local builders. I need a cabinet in the 2.5 cubic foot range. Shipping from East Coast is cost prohibitive. Beautiful cabinets should not be subject to the attentions of shipping gorillas either.
i know you spend some time listening to speakers. If you ever take the plunge to a single dirver system you should consider these speakers. Wait I remember you obtaining some tube amps.....that would be a nice match. For the way these things perform...I dont think you can get better sound for your $. And I am sticking my money where my mouth is. So don't consider this any type of blatant plug for the company....it's just they are darn fine sounding.
Maybe the 2nd's would work. Do you have a contact number for him? If so I would love to give him a call. Better to leave no stone unturned...lol.

Paul, are you speaking of
these cabinets? Definitely fine looking, but won't fit a 12" driver.
- JP
JP, yes, those cabinets.
Mr pig, the super 12s, I'm now assuming, are 12". didn't realize that full-rangers got that big.
The cabs the guy sells would maybe hold an 8" at best. sorry.
But I can still look if you want the guy's number. I don't have it, but maybe could dig it up.
Naw T,
I don't think it is worth the effort. I will go with a local builder. Now if I can just chase some cabinets up for the interim....
Yup the Syuper 12's are a 12" single driver monster. They have just been released. The Audio Nirvana line went up to 10's before. They claim mid 30's bass response in a 2.5 cubic foot bass reflex enclosure. High 90's efficiency. and a whizzer cone capable of getting up past 18K. Less than 200 a pair. I have high hopes. I enjoyed my time with the Super 8's....just not enough bass.
Thanks for offering the help T, I appreciate it.
Regards,
Mister Pig
ps those ARE beautiful cabinets....I wonder what he gets for a pair
Next time I see the posting, I'll put it up in the classifieds and let you know.

For those who want to help out, here are the driver dimensions the cabinets will need to be able to handle.
