ya, its an mx/cx-2000, they are not centenials, but from what I understand the have similar build quality. we hooked them up late last night and it sounded beautiful, it was bigger in sound, wider, smoother, clearer, crisp, tight, did I say smooth, ya, fricken everything was better, the low end, was, well, wow.

We got these pieces from the same guy that Mark B got his mx-2000 from last year, he didnt have any hits, he re-posted, I caught it right away and nabbed the amp, as most everyone knows that I have whined about being divorced and broke, so I talked dingus into buying the pre-amp, so I could eventually get it from him and make payments to him,

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WANT TO SPLIT UP A PAIR LIKE THAT. I think think its only rigth that he do the right thing and not keep the cx2000, in all fairness If you all remember I did fund the purchase of his AR9's, "that was when I was married and had a little money"

I am sure dingus will have a little different version of how this transpired, but the way I look at it, I was the first to post my story so I am going to stick with it, and it should hold a little more weight, and his story wont be so believable anyway.

Man, the snow, I hope, is just about wrapping up here in New England. I really don't like the stuff.

Are you guys in contact with Mark B? I know he wasn't well for a while there. How's he doing?

i spoke with Mark B yesterday after Todd had secured the deal for these two pieces, Mark is doing ok and he'll be at the Kelso, WA meet on Saturday.

as for the gear, that MX-2000 is the best looking amp i've ever laid eyes on, and the CX-2000 is an awesome pre, can hardly wait to hear it in my system. together they make wonderful sound and, as Todd says, its just not right to split them up. that is why i'll step up and do the right thing and take the MX-2000 off his hands when his impending financial crunch hits. its inevitable really, and we'll both be better for it.

the sound from this combo is very sweet, silky smooth and detailed. Todd went from bi-amping his Vandersteens to running just the MX-2000, and the improvement in soundstage and seperation is pretty awe inspiring. last night we went through lots of familiar tracks that we both use for referencing ... not only was the sound presented in a way that we werent familiar with, in a very good way, but we kept hearing things that we had not heard before. the low end from the Vandy's probably benifitted the most, the bass lines are much more detailed and have much more character to them. seperation, detail, clarity and that silky smooth presentation makes for a wonderful sound.

Why don´t you two guys move in together?

Some of the times what we do in the name of audio is just crazy...like you travelling with a weather like that...but, from what i see - i never listen to such gorgeous things like that - it has worth it every little effort to catch them.
