I stumbled across this stuff years ago, and you will never see our house run out. It is a hot Mexican tomato sauce. It's not meant to replace your normal seasonings or use of tomato sauce, but makes an excellent addition to any spicy food in the cooking, as well aas a great taco/burrito sauce, or mixed with salsa for an extre zing. Try it, if you like spicy food. You won't be disappointed.
Yeah, Mexican Chilly can“t do without it.

I've never seen it before, I will look closer next time I go to the store.

It sounds like great stuff. Never sen it here in New england, but it sure fits the term "canned goodness".
I look forward to finding a can and trying it out.
FYI - You ususally (California) won't find it with the tomato sauce, but rather with the canned Mexican peppers, Ortega chilis, etc.
I bout fell over when i saw this. I have had this stuff for 20 years. Theres a mexican dish I love to make with this. You have to put yourself in my shoes. Most of my friends growing up were mexican. I am a mix of spanish, filipino, and a whole mess of stuff. Anyway growing up all my friends mothers loved me and would always cook for us. Homemade corn tortillas the works. theres a spahgetti like brand called fidello and with pato sauce and potatoes it is soooo good. Anyway so much for my flashback.
BTW . Not sure why it's called el pato that means "The duck".
Bringing this to the forefront again - being the fat b*stard that I am, I'm trying to watch my weight a little. As much as I love corn-on-the-cob, I use El Pato instead of butter and salt - just a bunch of pepper..........

I put on that weight you lost Todd. Not since May 15th, but this year. That puts me at 145, and you're down to what, 220? I'll need to start working out to accomodate another 20lbs.
238lb, want to get to 225, glad you are gaining some weight.

way to go Todd! pretty soon you'll be do-able.
