just got the cr1020 back from merrylander, dingus came over to help me hook it up and bi-amp it to the kenwood ka-8100 they are running a set of Vandersteen 2c's, "will get photo later"

we tried the amps with the yammi on the highs and kenny on the lows and it sounded ok, but then we switched it and wow, the clear defined separation of the lows was very clear to me.

now if anyone has read any of my posts, I am not an audiophile with all the terminology, but my new configuration sounds pretty damn nice. I dont have optimum speaker set up, cause of the WAF. "wife acceptance factor" but all around its clear, defined and sounds great.

Great rig! How are the speakers configured in the setup?

yeah elroy, i thought you took pic's of the speakers too. i'll let him give the details, but like he said, its less than optimum. despite that the sound is outstanding, i had never heard the Vandy's with that kind of kick and impact before.

prior to bi-amp'ing the Vandy's, when comparing them to the AR-9's, we both agreed that he could use a sub. no more, they lack for nothing on the low end, a sub now would just be overkill.

Sounds excellent. I've never heard a pair of Vandersteen's before.

Is that turntable the Denon in your signature?

Looks like a stunner!

As I was saying , with the WAF in full force, the speaks are not set up well, I cant explain it, the photo didnt turn out good at all, will take another one soon. they are in opposite corners facing a point right in the middle of the room, if that makes sense.

ya it does rock.

yes that is a Denon DP 62L. its been in a box pretty much full time since 1987. only brought out maybe 3 times. on a side note, I did a really stupid thing with my Lp's. In the 80's I replaced most of my Lp's, 1 for 1 with cd's. now the bad part. I gave away the album once I scored the cd. I would say that is my biggest mistake in audio. I have another bad one but that deserves its own thread.

Oh ya, dungus and I spun a little vinyl on set up day, and it sounded real nice, smooth as could be.

I'd love dearly to move up the Denon TT chain. Nice machine you've got there! Too bad about the albums but they can be replaced.

right speaker

see that point on the wall on the right. Thats the sweet spot. but it still sounds good all through the house. I am going to try to move the couch, and put the rack in the middle and move the right speaker where the rack is now. and then it should sound perfect. but alas, the wife would S* hit if I moved the couch. I might anyway.

Very nice! However being an Art collector, I'm jealous of all your wall space. I have more pieces in storage than most people have in their entire house.
