"""EDIT BY MOD-

As a result of an excellent topic on hot sauces started by Larry, I'm consolidating all the hot sauce posts to one delicious reference thread. Thank you kindly for all the great ideas!

Kind regards,

Paul.

Now, back to Larry's original post..."""

Here's another for you to try. El Mexicano is a brand of seasoning, and they make several flavors. The "Carne Asada" is excellent, to say the least. If you like spicy, you'll love this.

I love the Mexican food isle in our stores. There is some great stuff if you take the time to look.

Since Larry's on a bit of a spicy or Asian sauce kick, I thought I'd recommend one of my favorites that combines the two. That is Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce. A friend of my parents, from Thailand and who recently moved back there, started a successful little string of Thai restaurants back where I'm from. He uses this sauce a lot and recommended it to me in the first place. It's fairly sweet, similar to good sweet and sour sauce, but being Thai has a little bit of spiciness to it. The combination is very good and makes for a good dip with rolls and is downright great as a condiment with BBQ chicken.

Agreed.. i love sweet and spicy chili sauce on like egg rolls, chicken fingers and other finger foods. i got this big bottle of a different brand for like under $3 as the local Asian market. it'll last me quite a while.. and it's not to spicy if you just like a little kick to your food.

Ok, since everybody's posting their favorite hot sauce....

The description in that link doesnt do it justice. This stuff has a great flavor, not just "all hot". Nevertheless it is quite hot. La Victoria Salsa Jalapena (red) is similar, and very good, but getting hard to find.

the Vietnamese sun-dried chili hot chili sauce known as Sriracha, or full name, "Tuong Ot Sriracha", also commonly referred to as 'Rooster Sauce" and in "hipster" circles, "Rooster Poop", because of the rooster imprint on the label/bottle.

Both garlicky and spicy in flavor,

another of my favorites- I can't get it out here on the east coast, but it was always prevalent in cali. I'll gladly trade a bottle of Rooster Sauce for anyone willing to send me a bottle of this...

Crap. And I thought Cholula was sensational compared to the rest of the usual junk I've had.

Nothing like pure capsaicin crystals to provide a hint of heat.

Matouk's an East Indian sauce. Uses scotch bonnets, a slightly milder and quite flavourful variety of the habanero.
