Going through a change today if I have time. A customer sold me a Pioneer SX737 and Sansui SR 525 turntable for $50, so it's time to get rid of the Sony. They're both kinda rough. The Pioneer is filthy and missing a few knobs, but seems to work OK. I'll clean it up a little and put it into service. The TT is missing the power cord, one of the legs, and I (dummy) broke the little plastic thingy that locks the tonearm in the rest. The base could use some attention, too. I'll put it in the box on the pallet rack and save it for a rainy day.

I'll take a pic when the 737 is in service.

Maybe I should have kept my fifty bucks!

Which knobs do you need? I may have some on a parts unit.

Thanks for the info and offer, Jim. I just finished lightly cleaning the 737, and hooked it up to the pallet rack speakers. As soon as I fired it up, I got a little busy, so I'll listen closer later.

It was missing one of the lower control knobs and the tuner knob. Also. the light in the pointer doesn't work, the clip to hold the antenna is broken, and one of the feet is gone. I pulled the covers and face off, cleaned all of the controls, and made some new feet for it to stand on. When I bought that Sansui PD10 turntable, it came with a Sherwood or Kenwood receiver. It had a minor problem that escalated to a major problem when I started working on it, so I tossed it. Before I did, though, I swiped all of the knobs from it. They're 1/4 splined like almost everything else, so I took 6 of them and put them on the Pioneer so they'd all look the same. The tuner knob is a plastic POS, but the unit is doing duty in the warehouse, and the wood case is beat up pretty bad, so I'm calling it good for now.

I'll go out and take a photo.

The Sansui SR 525 is a project. It's going on the shelf for now....................
