and it has speakers and preamps and stuff attached to it...
Got it for 4 bux today at a garage sale. She wanted 5 bux.
It's in EXCELLENT shape (this is a pilfered internet foto, but
it looks like this, with a jazzier grille. Am going to plug it in.
Also discovered a WILD audio shoppe in Pueblo.
One of those huge dungeon places, gigantic old furniture
store stuffed to the gills with old audio and video gear.
The point is the guy there said it probably still works,
just needs a good cleaning. I'll know soon enough.

It's a Grundig 2077 made in the year of my birth or so, 1957 or so.
And if I have violated any rules by showing that link without permission, let me know and I'll take it off.

You have to love those old table-top radios. It´s just amazing how nice they can sound. Gotta get me one of them, sometime.

Notice the PU knob. It´s for Pick-up. wink.gif Those ususally accepted ceramic cartridges only, so the gain won´t be enough for a MM cartridge. No harm in trying, though.

Hey, Dingus & Hifi.

It's really pretty, too. I happen to have a buddy's decent digicam here, so I'm going to take it outside and get some pix so I'll have before and after.

I took the back off, and I think you may concur that it had never been removed
before. I'll start with vacuuming. use canned air and manually wipe down everything that can handle it. (It's that dirty, which makes the excellent condition of the outside that much more amazing, for a 50 y.o. unit.)

Thanks for the TT tip, Jorge. I wouldn't have know that. Or that.

A Grundig 2077?

Have you had one? Heard one?
Or are you pulling my leg, considering you know
I am operating with a blowed mind?
(Love those mixed anatomical metaphors).

I'm pretty jazzed to get it outside, clean it up,
plug it in and HEAR it.

Oh, before I plug it in, I have to INSTALL
a plug for the one that was cut,
but I think I have a low-profile replacement
Brown to match the braun cord, even.

You, my friend, have got to be the shrewdest dude in the Rockies.

Perceptive and lucky = shrewd, I guess, Kevbo.
Cleaned it out and up today. Took digipix, but need to get the upload USB cable.
Changed the voltage pin to 110, plugged it in. Nuttin, as I expected.
So now comes the interesting part, where I actually learn something.
Where can I get a shop manual for this Grundig 2270.

Thanx,
dennis
