.......is playing at the county fair where my daughter has her sheep. They'll be playing Saturday night (free with admission to the fair). We have tickets and a car pass, so I might just have to go.
The fair only runs 5 days this year, down from the two weeks it used to. Last night was Randy Travis, tonight is Travis Tritt, tomorrow is Smokey Robinson, GFR is Saturday, and Sunday is Mexican theme with some Hispanic entertainer.
I like the doo-wop and Smokey might be OK, but I think GFR will probably put on a better show.
As an additional bit of info, a few years back in the heyday of the fair, we went one night to see the kid's 4_H and FFA projects, and the kids wanted to see the Leeann Womack concert, so I grabbed a beer or two and watched. It was pretty good. After it was over, I wandered around while the wife and kids looked at the projects again, and came across another "stage" (which they no longer use) that had something going on. I walked over, and caught the second half of a Dave Mason concert!!! THAT was GREAT!!
I like gfr too, pretty good music.

i saw GFR open for The Fabulous Thunderbirds in the early 80's at Gilley's in Ft. Worth, TX. they played on the stage right next to the rodeo arena. GFR had the better show and the better music, pretty solid little thee-piece band.
I like Grand Funk too. I didn't know they're still playing.
Hope you have a great time.
Most of those old 70's bands have gotten back together and tour the indian casinos, and they sound pretty good too.

I thought Grand Funk dropped the "Railroad"
just as Chicago dropped the "Transit Authority."
I saw Merle Haggard and Marty Stewart & the Fabulous Superlatives
at the Colorado State Fair about three years back.
Two years ago it was Alice Cooper and Cheap Trick.
Great shows, lotsa fun, good access to the stage and a festival
feel, on the dirt. I love Cheap Trick, and those dudes are
SERIOUS talents. Every guy in the band can really play and or sing.
Robin Zander has one of the alltime great rock voices,
Rick Nielsen is a monster on a bunch of weirdass guitboxes,
and Bun E. is one of the best drummers ever.
If you ever wondered what a natural looks like,
just want Bun E.
How are they having a county fair when the crops are barely planted?
