I need a headshell for a STR8-30 Stanton

hifi_nut- 02-26-2008
Is it standard mounting?

Here you´ll find standard ones, straight arm types ( like those for some Denons Technics and ADC arms ), special models for Duals and even P-Mount adaptors.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Jorge
I'll tell you what happened.
I lost the little plastic nut that holds the cartridge on. I've contacted Stanton to no avail. So I don't know what to do.

Are you refering to the screws and nuts that hold the cartridge to the headshell?

If it´s just a standard nut, it doesn´t have to be plastic. In fact I´d recommend a metal one, or to actually. In that case you should be able to get them from a zillion places.

If it´s a Stanton specific part, try sending a PM to member Emaidel. If he can´t help you, I don´t know who can.

I tried a nut on both sides but it threw my weight and tracking of because the plastic nut slides into a groove. So with just a nut it didn't tighten down. thanks for the help. I go from a 100.00 TT to a 10.00.

Can you post a picture of the nut that you have and the headshell slot, some type of measurement would help too, I have several of these around the house, you typically get new ones with every cartridge.

If I don't have one you can try here I bought a couple of cartridges from him, he had some new old stock Pickering XSV 3000's a couple of years ago.

I see he does have a headshell for your Stanton, but show us what you need maybe I have one to mail to you, he wants $36 for the headshell.

Thanks right now i'm very busy getting ready at the store. We open Sat. So my wife and I are really busy.
It is a square nut thats plastic and slides into a channel. It is about a 32nd.

I'll look and see what I have that might be close and post some pictures.

The 1st looks right but to big. I really appreciate your trying though. Thats why I like this site. Thank you very much.

It may just look large being taken close up with the macro setting, if you want drop me a pm of your address and I will send you a couple of those, if it is to large you may be able to trim one down to fit. Those are more of the same in the second pic, I will look when I get home and see if they may be smaller.
