| Charlie, I´m not sure, but I´d guess those 816 bass cabinets won´t go as low as the 828s used on the A5 and A7 models. Those 1003 horns are the stuff dreams are made of. I know little about the 299 drivers, but I´d say they are probably in the same league. I was wondering if you could try a combination of the 828 bass cabinets from your A/7s with those 1003 horns? You could probably use the LX5 crossovers to great effect. $500 for that pair of speakers is obscene. Jorge P.S. - I´m really sorry I don´t live closer to you. |

| The link works now. Nice setup. I am, however a little disappointed. You must have come up 99 or 5 to get to them, which meant you drove within eyesight of my place and didn't stop. Next time. |

Where are you located? I had no idea you were close by. I took the 99 most of the way then I forgot what it turns into but I went up through Livermore and that area. You must not be too far away, come on down. Charlie |

| After years of having a love/hate relationship with the Altec Voice of The Theater design, with its totally cool cell horn, Jean Hiraga, the famous French audiomaniac finally tuned the crossover (the right notch filters) to make it sound harmonically right in the home. For decades Hiraga has been preaching horn loudspeakers, and his crossover design was published in Sound Practices, which is the only American magazine that has regularly featured articles about horns |
