Could one of you fine gentlepersons ID these Pioneer speakers for me?
Are they any good? (15"woofers, according to ad)

Not sure of the model but i think they are ones you would want to pass on.

That's kinda what I thought, but figured I'd better ask. soundt/thumbup.gif

Above is for reference only.

Larry, CS series, my son is currently using a pair of CS-99A, for $20 for the pair they are alright, but not really much more, good barn speakers.

I have not heard the particular ones you are asking about. but the ones in the link look to be the same model.

Pioneer CS-G403. Cheap, but not terrible. We use several pairs of this for our anime convention here... they're nowhere near audiophile, but they don't sound bad either.

This is one of those systems where the total is greater than the sum of the parts... the woofers have tiny magnets, and the crossover is primitive... but the stuff just works together pretty well, despite that. For background music, and if you get 'em cheap enough (I've never paid more than $50 for any of the pairs we have, and the last pair was $25, which was more reasonable, IMHO), you can do quite a bit worse...

Regards.
Gordon.
