One of the most popular parts of A$$A is our interviews. I am looking for suggestions for possible subjects for 2007. if you have any ideas, post them here.

Doc Bottlehead would be nice. Nice affordable way into tubes and seems like a very good guy.

Darrel Hawthorne at Hawthorne Audio as well.

My suggestions might be too obvious and well-known to make for interviews interesting with most, but these are some gents I'd like to read about:

Arnie Nudell - Formerly of Infinity, formerly of Genesis. I'm not an audio manufacturer stalker, so I'm not too sure about this, but I believe he's still in the PNW and might make for a face-to-face interview.

Brian Cheney - His VMPS designs have been advancing some of the speaker approaches pioneered by Nudell and seem to offer great value. I understand that he's also very communicative with his customers and so may be willing to be interviewed.

Hugh Dean of Aspen/AKSA --Hugh was very friendly and helpful to me, a non-customer, in the past and seems like he might make for a good interview as well.

Mike Kelly from Aerial. i am hoping part of the interview would include some history from his time at ADS.

oh yeah, and "that Vandersteen guy".

I think Lynn Olson would be a good interview. Also Roger Russell would be an enjoyable and informative interview.

Noted. Cheney has some of the most clear-headed audio writings I've ever found online, and his shop isn't too far from where I live. VMPS has some pretty exciting stuff coming out next year:

i'd like to be the first to volunteer to demo those in my home, for an extended period, and write a guest review.

If you can get them, I'll publish!

winslow Burhoe. I'd like to someday get to go to his new company, Direct Acoustics, which is located somewhat near me, in weston, Mass.

I can't drive, and during the winter, I don't get around well and am sick often, but maybe member Birddog and I could go in the spring or summer. If luck allows.

as for Winslow, I'd love to hear his new speaker venture, and the "Silent" speakers he produces.

There's a great review of 'em at his website.

James Bongiorno, James has recently released his new Son of Ampzilla 2000 as well as a new preamp.

James is known for being colorful, might make a good interview, and/or review.

Mark,

You think you can get hold of Dr. Bruce Edgar? That´s your man for modern horn designs.

Who knows Jorge, but it would be worth a try.

Well, it just occurred to me Dr. Edgar´s designs are anything but affordable. sad.gif

But, hey, I´m sure it would make for an excellent article in A$$A.

I gotta say that I was mighty pleased to see Cheney's interview in January's issue. Still looking for more names? What about interviewing some good, but not yet famous musicians? Kelly seems to know of a few Portland area jazz folks who might be worth an interview. Much as we can get caught up with our gear, it is the people behind the music who give us the cause of our passions. Besides, it might be interesting to read what they have to say or it could be a dumb idea.

How about some small room acoustics?
