when I was in england 87-90, there were only 4 or 5 radio stations, then "pirate" radio's anchor broke, and they floated into British waters and was seized, imo the only station that played fairly modern music.
I assume there are more stations to listen to now, right?
Sweet, but I think I'll stick with this one for awhile.

Hi hakka26,
Your Marantz tuner is gorgeous.
I've recently bought a Marantz 2060 ML Tuner, so I know what you mean.
I recently asked about adding pictures, etc, to your posts, I got several replies & I have tried everything they told me, but it just doesn't work for me!!!!
I was over at Lakenheath, maybe they didnt have a good radio reception and I could only bet bbc 1 and 2, and Pirate radio. or maybe, now that I am thinking about it, there probably were more, but I didnt like the format, that is probably why I am saying there were only a couple.

I agree that the forementioned Day Sequerra tuner is one of the three best tuners ever. The other two are Magnum Dynalab MD-109 and the Tandberg TPT 3001A.
Which of the three you'd prefer is about taste. Sound is so close.

Nice tuners.
Best I've personally heard was a McIntos tuner a McIntosh tech had lovingly restored and perhaps modified.
While I do consider McIntosh products of decent quality, I cannot claim to have really had my socks wowed by any of their kit, except for the afforementioned tuner.
I personally own a Sansui TU-717 as my favorite, sold off another nice one, the Kenwood KT-7500, and another, the suprisingly good Technics 8600.
Missed out on a Sansui 9900 for cheap- I hesitated, like a fool.
Did grab a Sansui 5900 for chump change, though.
Always fancied the Nikko Alphas, and Sumo Charlie.

if you look at the map of the runway, and look at the bottom right part of the 06, that is where the fire station is at. well that's where it was when I was there.
