Those two play into each other and bring the best out in both artists. Their duets are well matched and the playing is superb. It's been a long time since I've heard Clapton play with this much feeling. If you like JJ's style you will love this album.

I haven't heard this album, but I like it because I used to live near Escondido (actually delivered pizza there for three years and got to know the town quite well)...it's the nearest decent-sized town to Valley Center (in Southern California), which is evidently where J.J. Cale lives. I can't place the exact spot on the cover, but the scrubby hills are typical of the area...it could well be Valley Center Rd., which does, in fact, lead to Escondido.

Sorry but i think they are not going to Escondido they are in the way to El dorado del Blues...
So much detail in their performances.
