I snapped this pic of the mixing board at the camp for middle schoolers that I was working back in June. I thought it turned out pretty cool and wanted to share.

Great pic. soundt/thumbup.gif
What kind of console is that?

The board is a Yamaha, I forget the model, but it is one of their mid-range analog boards. It is actually part of my church's "travel system". So it is used for a lot of different functions, including our camp for the middle schoolers. Our church has a lot of talented musicians, and every night at camp is basically a concert. Yes... we are spoiled.

Well you can always get a control surface so it at least feels like you are mixing on an old style board. Only downside is that some of them are REALLY pricey. For anything live I still prefer a traditional old analog board, but for post production work it is amazing how much functionality you can get for $1000 of software.

Pricey and they dont feel or act the same, simply sending out MIDI CC info, not at all like a real board directly connected to EQ, FX, pans, etc. Lucky you still doing live eh. Damn.

btw, my last venture with knobs was doing the vintage (analog) synth thing a few years back. Purchased them, restored them, then loaded up the factory presets and sampled direct to disk, note by note, them reprogrammed them and did it again, sold them to help pay for GF start-up. Lots of fun and around 500 GB of samples. Occasionally I'll load some into Reality and play the thru a system here. Very handy for -*test*-('")ing crossover points on speakers. So's a mixing board smile.gif

I also have a pile of pics.
