No, as a matter of fact I haven't. We have a hodgepodge of cables, and to be fair, I want to use comparable quality for the -*test*-('"). I also want to be able to put the HPMs in the mix, so I need to standardize my cables for now.

dont know how i missed this thread until now. i have really come to appreciate the sound of Sansui amplification, i would imagine it makes the Cornwalls sound stellar.

I would also say that the Cornwalls make the Sansui sound stellar, too! Sweet combination!

ADDITION.........................................

My brother had a Sansui AU717, TU717, and SC1110 years ago. The tuner and amp both developed problems and did not survive the repair shop that worked on them. He never used them in a rack, and had never installed the handles. When I bought my pieces in January, they came minus handles so I asked my brother if he still had his. They were in the middle of moving, but thought they might be packed away somewhere.

He just showed up with three sets of handles, all the operator's manuals, schematics, and the SC1110 which he doesn't use any more, and won't fit in their new entertainment center. I don't think I really need 3 cassette decks, but who knows? Great trading material! Handles and manuals, though............ biggrin.gif

The Sansui stack is now over 6' (and growing). soundt/action-smiley-035.gif

Was snooping elsewhere the other day and "oldhifiguy" posted that he had bought a Sansui AU517 and did not want the handles that came with it. He'd send them to anyone who wanted them for the freight. I spotted the thread about 5 minutes after th post. He also stated that he needed a user's manual. Word has it that the 517/717 are basically the same units operation wise, so I PM'd him and offered a copy of my 717 manual for the handles. He lives in San Jose, which is about 60 miles from here, so yesterday we met halfway in Livermore and traded. Nice guy, a retired HP tech/engineer. He lives close to reedger. I got my handles, and he got his manual, along with a few of my hemostats, a set of -*test*-('") leads (there's a pic in my classifieds thread), and some heavy duty ziploc bags. Sweet!!!

I'll report any audible differences. biggrin.gif

You gotta tighten up those handles pretty tight, otherwise the sound will be sluggish and ill defined. Stereo image will suffer, and bass will be of the one note variety.

Of course you can always balance things out a little with a few of the great value for money "Magic Pebbles" sold by machinadynamica. biggrin.gif

Please, do keep us informed.
