I finally got around to taking a picture of my setup. The quality is not the best. We moved it all in this one spot last night, only to find out the wife wants it moved. Oh, well

Anyway, on top is a Crapola CD changer followed by a Sansui TU 717 and Sansui AU717 . The rack is an O'Sullivan with my Sansui TU717 (yeah, I have 2) AU719, SE7 equalizer, and SC1330 Cassette deck. On the very bottom is a Sansui SC3110 deck that came with the two Sansui pieces on top I bought in January for $225. All of the other pieces in the rack were bought new in 1980 and have never been out. The AU719 is in need of a good cleaning and re-cap.

My original Canon 1215T speakers got hurt, and not knowing any better, I tossed them.

Next to the rack are my HPM 100s, care of a local garage sale for $50. On top are the Klipsch KG4s I bought locally in August for $100. (Yeah, HPM 100s make good speaker stands ) Outboard are the Cornwalls I bought yesterday. On top of them are a set of DIY Dayton III speakers my son Elliot built last year as his first diy project.

It will all get moved in a few days. A friend of mine who is a retired electrical engineer who specializes in generators is bringing me a switch to use as a speaker selector that will acommodate all of these, plus more.

Just to show you that I REALLY do have a system!!!

PS: Yeah, HPM-100s work great as speaker stands thanks to their dimensions and quality construction, but, oh, the abuse I took for using my pair as stands for my Tannoys.

Yeah, hakka. I blew a woofer and didn't know where to get a new one. A "friend" who owned a car stereo shop got me some generic replacement and it never sounded the same. Not knowing any better at the time, I tossed them when I got the HPMs. I'm smarter now, thanks to you guys and ST!!!

It's currently with the forklift system. My daughter turns 16 next month, and there is talk of a party in the garage-driveway-patio area, and she wants the "system" for the sounds. Hopefully we can have the long awaited review done first.

My son built those several years back, as his first DIY project.

When we built his71 El Camino, he bought the sound system from Elemental Designs, and they have a spot on the ICIX forum. He did a full spread over there on the installation. When he built the Dayton IIIs, he did the same. It was his first experience with wood, solder, etc. He built the crossovers, etc. and posted all of it.

As far as sound, they are a little lacking in bass for my likes (which he said they would be) but for the newer style music that teens like, they are great. Really strong in the midrange, and the high are crisp and bright. For my use, they were better stacked on the Yamahas in the forklift system. Added a little more "thump". We could really irritate neighbors with that setup!

The wife and I took off Friday, and spent the night on the coast. Our son had a few of his buddies over for a night of video games and poker. I guess the Sansui and the Cornwalls were the entertainment of choice. He plugged his computer in for the source, and let 'er rip. Made believers out of some teen boys!!!!

Ok, leave the Cornwalls to your son and his buddies, and get yourself a pair of K horns.

Great looking system Larry. I love your Sansui stuff! Have you done a comparision of your Cornwalls to the KG4s? I'm interested in your take. I haven't had a chance to do so yet. The Cornwalls are in Illinois and the 4s in Denver.
