why cant you stay in colorado? I was stationed in Denver in the Air force many years ago. I really liked the city and state, and weather.

We can sell our house here and with the equity pay cash for a new house in Illinois. Not having a morgage payment is what will allow us to retire. Carol has been teaching for 30 years and will recieve 75% of her highest salary for life or something like that. We will probably get a couple of part time jobs just to keep out of trouble. I will also need some spare cash to pursue a certain hobby of mine. This trip is primarily to evaluate the housing market in Illinois.

I know a guy who just bought a house in kansas for 15,000 it needs a lot of work, but he is going to retire in the midwest also. you can find some really good deals it seams in the southeast and midwest.

We will try to stay under $200,000. The less work to be done the better. After all I will be retired.

Max has been protecting it. We'll have to wait for some cocker spaniel to waltz by and distract him.

Toss max a cheap bottle of Tequila, he'll go on a bender and we can drink the beer while he is out chasing the Cocker Spaniel.

Ross, what part of the lovely Illinois are you looking in. Rockford/Moline way?

Lots of new housing here in the Springpatch area but the people here are real proud of their real estate.
