2.00 am here. Listening to Pink Floyd - Wish you were here.

Don´t remember my system ever sounding so good. Must be ´cause I´ve had a few scotches already.

My 2 best friends from childhood are here with their wives. They think I have a great sound. Who am I to disagree?

Jorge

P.S. - JP you said 24 hrs?
I´ll have to check that tomorrow, after my head is cleared. wink.gif

Remember, Larry, we at ST require our moderators to have at least a BS degree. So, if you're working for a technical college 2 year moderator's degree, it won't suffice. Sorry.

- JP

Well EXCUSE ME, but I have:

Diploma - Atlanta Grammer School, 1964
Diploma - Ripon High School, 1968
AA Degree - Modesto Junior College, 1970
DOUBLE Bachelor's Degree - CSUS, 1973

I also received my Minister's Credentials from ULC in 1970

So, even though I have more than adequate education for your requirements, I'll have you know that I am in the Master of Moderator program. So there!!!

You may start calling me SIR any time!!! biggrin.gif

Sorry, Larry, I knew you have had a better than average education. I meant a BS in Moderator Studies. Masters will suffice. You identified your class as Moderator 101, which is a freshman level course, a very basic one at that. For your masters, it should be a 500 level, which is why I was thrown off.

Minister? Well, I guess Jorge and Jim can't win now. You have divine intervention on your side.

My instructor has already put me on the fast track. I have been offered the opportunity to challenge all of the upper classes, and progress straight into the Phd curriculum. Job offers should be streaming in any day now.

Regarding Divine intervention:

ULC is the Universal Life Church (google it), founded in 1959 by the late Kirby J. Hensley. He set up his main office in Modesto, Ca. where I went to Jr. College. Although it started out as a legitimate church, during the late 60s and early 70s people tried using his "credentials" to dodge the draft and avoid paying taxes, since churches are tax-exempt. You could get your minister's credentials, doctor of divinity, church charter, etc. for a modest donation. Technically it was legal, and the IRS fought him until he died in 1999. I think they almost broke him. But every dope smoking peace love hippie freak back then got their credentials, and started a church.

I went to JC with a guy who's mother was Kirby's personal secretary, and he had a sense of humor about like mine. One day he showed up in the cafeteria with signed sealed credentials for a bunch of his friends, including me. Technically it is legal, especially the older ones like mine with the seal.

Not wanting to start any kind of religious conflict here, I have never nor would I ever lead someone to believe that it is "Real" There is a copy of it hanging in my office with my other legitimate diplomas, showing that they all possess equal value. Affirmative action in the mid 70s practically negated diplomas for white males (as told to me by one of my last professors in college), so they are all wall decoration to me.

Anyway, back to class. My professor has invited me over to her apartment tonight to see if I can find her "sweet spot". Heck, I didn't even know she had a stereo! Go figure that!

Oh, that ULC. Now I remember what that is. My brother became "ordained" in that a few years ago. Though, his credentials might be considered a little more legit considering he did go all through seminary school and only afterwards decided not to become a priest because he didn't like the whole celibacy thing. Surprisingly, even the newer ULC ordinations are considered somewhat legal. My bro has married two couples.

Technically, it is legal. Your brother must have gone through the monastary, which is a later addition.

At one time it was very serious, then it got to be a joke, but now I believe it is back on a more "conventional" track. After all, most current religions were spun off of something else.

Where I was raised, most people were either Catholic, German Baptist (Dunkards), or Christian Reformed (Dutch). However, my grandparents were raised Lutheran, and we were raised Episcopal. I guess it's fair to say that I have seen all points of view. Maybe Kirby did, too.......................

Now, back to homework........... biggrin.gif

Now that Larry´s got his new pair of speakers, he might actually stay away from this thread long enough for me to win it.

Just catching up, Larry, glad to know someone else who has been ordained into ULC, I was ordained about 4 years ago. Haven't Married anyone yet but have a friend who has. There were originally 3 of us, we were going to start our own "Church" the Church of Whats Happening Now.

I still have my Official Credentials of Ministry.

Jim

PS got to go read about your speakers.
