i came home from work this morning to find that my Panamax 1000+ had gone tits up. i really liked the convenience of having only one power button to control everything, plus there is an apparent psychological comfort from having line protection as well. i say psychological because i am afraid to plug anything back into the wall outlets, even though thats how i ran my system (without any issues) prior to having the Panamax. silly i know....

so now i'm in the market for a decent power center. line conditioning is fine but is a secondary feature and being a cheap bastard i prefer the used market. any suggestions or recommendations?

Check out the Adcom 515 and Rotel RLC-900- I have these, and they are simple, great for the cash, and include a delay power-up between source/pre and power amp.

Also, DAK sold a few timers/conditioners and timers/controllers. Beefy, heavy, and extremely low profile. Can be had cheap, when you can find them.

I agree with Paul, it is actually important if you are running pre/power amps to power them up and down correctly. Although not a big Monster fan you can find them on the used market with the described features.

there is a Panamax 5300 on AG for $115 that i am waiting to hear back from the seller on. if it doesnt pan out Panamax is offering 50% off on a few new models for current owners.

shipping was $28, so the total to my door came in at under $150.
