WOW... i happened upon this on EBAY, a near mint PD-M90X, PIONEER's very first ELITE magazine CDP, that the seller was starting at $10.00 or so, due to the fact that it powered up, with a fritzed-out FL display, totally inoperative controls, and inability to latch home an arbitrary CD magazine into place. so, i finally win it at only $22.00 with three bids, and it get's here. sure enough, all those problems exist. First, i swap out the changer/transport mecha with the healthy one out of my existing less-than-ideal-condition M90X, figuring that the problem lied in a seized-up mecha. Result? same old problem. whatthehell!?! so, i decide to go REALLY invasive, and swap out the interconnected main PCB and analog audio output stage. BINGO, SUCCESS!! a fully functional, nearly cosmetically perfect PD-M90X example!! NO MORE WAITING FOR IT TO "WARM UP" BEFORE PROPERLY FUNCTIONAL!!!! it would seem that this new M90X suffered from some sort of IC or circuit fault somewhere in the main PCB, whilst my original seemed to suffer from some sort of "Warming Up" fault in the mulit-voltage power transformer assembly. what a delightful turn of events!! now all i need is to get my reference CDP, the PIONEER PD-3000 (JPN PD-91) back up to snuff, and i'll be a VERY happy PIONEER fanboy, styling in style!!!!

Good looking unit. Congrats. Does it have a copper chassis like the others from Elite line?

Nice machine, MacGyver
I had the same but i sold it. When i got the PD-F19 i had not enough space and the natural selection choosed the PD-M90X to go. It's too bad about this machine but the space in my cabinet isn't endless. Every time i sell an Urushii machine my heart breaks.

Sweet. What did you use for a parts unit or am I missing something?
Oops re-read. Thought it was the same unit that needed warming up.
