Gramophone Magazine to put 85 years of back catalogue online for free.

As of September 2008, Gramophone Magazine’s entire back-catalogue of content will be made available in a massive online archive – that’s 85 years worth of news, reviews and features absolutely free.

The monthly publication dedicated to classical music has been running since 1923, originally founded by the Scottish author Compton Mackenzie. The free archive will contain over 100,000 articles and has been described by current editor James Inverne as “an indispensable guide for anyone who is remotely interested in classical music".

Gramophone plans to link every review to a download and mail order service to make the service commercially viable. Keep an eye on Gramophone Magazine’s official site for more details.

That is awesome to hear about Gramaphone's archives. One day I hope all the deceased magazines would somehow be freed up to and posted online. Their is a wealth of info that deserves to be in the public domain.

Inner World Audio hifi publication

A few months ago a new hifi magazine was launced primarily for Finnish market. Most articles are written in Finnish, although selected articles are written in English for a broader audience.

The innerWORLD/AUDIO is a broad, modern, professional web/paper magazine of sound, music and visual effect. The issues are available as a free download (PDF-files), the readers can also subscribe actual paper copy.
