Well, it only gets better. Late last night I was thinking about what the seller said and the demo. His opinion was that since the power light didn't come on the amp was non-op. I took off the top and got the bulb out and tested. Dead. I'm not the first in there as there has been some amount of work done. Couple pieces had burn marks

. Then I did some research. Found out that this amp requires jumpers

. On the way home I bought a new bulb. Spent the last hour with the amp. Installed the bulb and RCA cables (jumpers). Put the DMM in the speaker connectors and turned the amp on. Bulb lit up, nice. But, no reading at the DMM. So I waited. After about 30 seconds there was a god awful buzzing rattle then a pop

. Almost peed my pants. Then I looked at the DMM — 27.7 on the left and 18.5 right. Turned of the speaker switch and hooked up a set of Minimus 7s and a cdp with some "Sting." Carefully turned the speaker switch then the volume. I have liftoff

. Sweet. Left it to idle. Didn't push things as I think I should have the left board checked. My guess is the speaker relay also needs some cleaning as I have a similar noise with a Kenwood 7600. It occurs to me that once the seller did not see the power light come on he may not have hooked up any speakers. All I saw were his Altec A-7. The amp has taken a hit or two on the rear. One set of phono plugs are pushed in some and the accessory plugs are chipped. The "A" side speaker block has some major cracks in the plastic. Getting ready for a trip so it'll be a couple weeks before I get to play some more.
