Nice clean look. Is the TT rack mounted to the wall?

Yes, the turntable and phono stage are on a 2 Target 2 shelf wall mounted unit. It was a necessity since I've got a wood floor on joists - way too springy for a turntable.

I will post some pics of the B-2x and CD-1 when they arrive. I can't believe how much nice Yamaha gear has been available recently.

OvenMaster- 02-28-2007
Absolutely beautiful, Mark. I love it.

Not as much as the rest of us at how you're managing to snag all these rarities.

I look forward to the pictures.

The B-2x arrived today (undamaged). It's in very nice condition. This amp has got some heft to it: just over 60lbs. It's warming up on the dining room table. I'm out of interconnects, so I'll have to scavange a pair from the phono stage, then hook up Mike's Sony CD player & the C-80 to the B-2x and see how it makes music on the Bose 601's.

Charivari- 03-01-2007
Glad to hear that it didn't suffer any damage. As always, looking forward to reading your impressions.

That's really cool. I seem to recall that Axel's TVK page mentioned that many of the original CD-1s with the extra control pad drawer suffered mechanical breakdowns. So, that yours is working is really something.

'Course, the most important question must be asked, how does it all sound?

It sounds quite nice. However the right channel is significantly weaker than the left channel. It must be an intermittent problem, because it wasn't noticeably weaker the day before. I'm going to see if Merrylander will fix it up, and recap it.

Charivari- 03-03-2007
That's unfortunate. I hope it's an easy fix.
