That's a brutal but gorgeous system you got there Mark.
BTW what's the weight of that cdp...? ohmy.gif

Thank you Alvaro. I hope that a rack that is not overpowered by the size of the Centennial componants will reduce the brutal aspect somewhat.

The CDX-10000 weighs 25.5kg (56lbs)

Some nudies of my Yamaha B-2x. An unusual design for Yamaha, this amp is a full dual mono design including dual trannies. Even the cost-no-object MX-10000 uses a single dual wind tranny. The B-2x is 170 watts per channel, and weighs 65lbs.

Incredible craftmanship from those Yamaha techs. Beautiful insides... wink.gif
I only saw one of those. You've got great tastes in gear Mark, congrats. Tanx for sharing. user posted image

Fortunately, I lucked out in getting to see all this cool Yamaha gear in person this weekend. It is yet another example of Yamaha overbuilding their better amps and being conservative on their power ratings.

Say, Mark, have you given some thought about trying that B-2X out on the Infinity's highs with the MX-10000 on the woofers until the B-1s come back in from the shop?

That's a good idea JP - I'll try it out this weekend.

Some pics of an M-4. This 120wpc amp was manufactured from 1979 to 1982.

To me, the nicest black-faced Yamaha is the B-2 and B-4 amps. stunning in their simplicity.

It sounds wonderful. It's much stronger than I expected - it rivals the B-2x on the low-end.

and smokes the B-2x on looks (but i aint complaining). quite impressive.

Yes Jorge the VU meters are killers. Here's a couple more in a B-2 I got a few days ago. The amp needed a good cleaning inside, including the pots and switches.

Beautiful.

Let me guess, are you tri-amping?

Or are you just trying to own all the big, beautiful Yammies on your part of the country? biggrin.gif

I know, I know, you´re starting your own used Yamaha dealership. ph34r.gif
