Look what I found at a garage sale for 50 cents each, they sound great. they are master recordings, I have never had the pleasure. am listening to them right now, they sound alot better and smoother than a regular album, its kinda cool listening to Steely Dan, and how smooth it is.

You scored great, Todd. Those Original Master Recordings by Mobile fidelity were cut at half speed from the original master tapes and that made a whole world of difference. They were quite expensive at the time but worth every cent. Vinyl at its best, no doubt.

The steely dan LP hasnt been played, i dont think anyway, it sounds great, al stewart is in pretty good shape, the song "year of the cat" sounded like nothing I have ever heard, I guess I just have never heard it other than on the radio.

its kinda got me going through my vinyl and listening to some stuff, its kinda cool.

The "Aja" album in its standard format is considered one of the best engineered recordings of the 70's. I have a copy, but can only imagine how much better the Mobile Fidelity disc is - all my other Mobile Fidelity discs are wonderful.

Anyway, back to the Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs records. After they droped vinyl production they re-issued many great works on CD in their famous Gold layered discs. Whether it was the gold or the outstanding production job that makes those CD´s sound better than most is open to discussion. They are to Rock and Pop music what Telarc is to Classical and Jazz, the best there is.

I´m listening to this one right now. Outstanding.
