I got a phone call from a guy who hangs out at the watering hole, he has heard I collect old equipment. He called to see if I was interest in his old equipment, I said sure, I just gt back from picking it up, I don't have all of the model numbers yet but an SX-950, a PL-530 turntable with a spare cartridge, an Akai reel to reel,, an akai cassette deck and a pair of Sansui speakers. He says it has all been siitting unused for the last 10 years, he had brought it back from Viet Nam, he is cleaning out his house and didn't want to move this stuff to the basement to sit till whenever and get thrown away. I noticed on the receiver that some of the switches are bent, I am sure all of the pots need cleaned and possibly need some new lamps, but the price was right. I only opened one of the speakers up the surrounds in it looked good,, I didn't open the other one up yet. It is waiting in the truck for me, I am going to get my son to help carry it all in later.

nice score.. post a pic or two if you can... i like buddies who watch out for you like that if they know you would be interested in stereo equipment that they no longer want. biggrin.gif

I have the same Pioneer PL-530 turn table... your's might need a new cartridge and needle to really make it sound good. soundt/thumbup.gif

TThe Pl530 came with the original cartridge and an unused replacement cartridge.

The Sansui's are SP 2500X and the Akai Reel to Reel is a GX-265D. I will try to get some pics as I get them inside, WAF factor, she says I have to much, I say there is still a small area to walk through and we can always start just comming and going throught the back door. laugh.gif
