After more than 50 years McIntosh presents the first turntable, the MT-10.
One of the most innovative aspects - between others.. - is the fact that the platter spins through a magnetic field witch aloows it to rotate with no mechanical friction.
The only friction will be the surrounding air... ohmy.gif

Take a good look at:

Mike Gibson is drooling ...

i'll bet its a very nice sounding tt, but also quite spendy.

It's a well built TT and sounds good. At least the one I heard did. It just doesn't do it for me though. Even if I had the money I don't think I'd get one. It looks like something built out of spare parts. The amp looking front end looks really out of place to me.

I'm just an old guy who doesn't like the design I guess. smile.gif Now if someone offered one up to me; I'd of course take it. smile.gif

thats what i thought too. if the face fit the same height and width of the table it would look a lot better.

A TT from McIntosh is certainly news and I do think it is original to some extent in the looks department, though something very much in those lines has been recently produced by T+A from germany.

As for novelty, however, La Platine Verdier, from JC Verdier in France, has been using their platter magnectic levitation system for many, many years.

For those who have ever heard one ( I have in their agents in Lisbon ) it´s one of the best ever.

I´m with Mike Gibson, I wouldn´t say no to one someone offered me.

Well, i have a different opinon. I mean, i love everything's McIntosh. Even this strange looking TT. Maybe because he's strange looking...I find the design quite original and appeling.
If i had the "time" of course i will buy this baby. smile.gif
